How to: Prevent unwanted page breaks in Word.
Solution:
If page break is unwanted, select the page break and press DEL. If break was automatically inserted by Word, increase the printable area of the page or adjust the text flow formatting.
Do one of the following:
1) If the unwanted page break was due to a manually inserted page break:
a) Select the page break.
b) Press DEL.
2) If the unwanted page break was automatically inserted by Word, do one of the following:
a) Increase the printable area of the page.
b) Set text flow formatting for a paragraph:
1] Place the insertion point at the problem area of the text.
2] Select the 'Format' menu and select 'Paragraph...'. (The Paragraph dialog box appears.)
3] Click 'Text Flow' tab.
4] Select the appropriate Pagination check boxes:

a] Select the 'Widow/Orphan Control' check box to prevent printing widows or orphans .
b] Select the 'Keep Lines Together' check box to prevent a page break within a paragraph.
c] Select the 'Keep with Next' check box to prevent a page break between the current and next paragraph.
d] Select the 'Page Break Before' check box to insert a page break before a paragraph.
5] Click 'OK'.
NOTE: To ensure that unwanted page breaks do not appear in the document, use 'Print Preview' to view the document before printing.
